Among the greatest American successes of all the times, Flashdance is a 1983 romantic film that has touched the heart of millions people around the globe, portraying the world of music, dance and singing in a unique way.
Flashdance is the story of Alex, a young and determined girl who works in a factory during the day and dances in a nightclub at nights, with a dream of becoming a professional dancer and being accepted by the prestigious Shipley Dance Academy.
Flashdance the Musical is the theatrical transposition of the renowned film, and its strenght lies in two major points: the striking choreography and the catchy music of several hit songs, such as “Maniac” performed by Micheal Sembello, and “What a feeling” performed by Irene Cara and expressly written for the film.

The Mouth of Truth (Italian Bocca della Verità) is a sculpture in marble which supposedly dating back to the first century AD.
One version says it was part of an ancient Roman Fountain, while the other holds that it is the portrait of Oceanus, a pagan god.

In the XVII century the Mouth of Truth was transferred to the portico of Santa Maria in Cosmedin, in Rome, where still stands today. Besides being famous for its appearance in the Italian cult movie “Roman Holiday”, the Mouth of Truth has captured the attention of many visitors over the years for a curious peculiarity.
In fact, according to an old tradition and as you can gather from its name, the Mouth of Truth is said to bite off the hand of the liers.
