Flashdance the Musical

Among the greatest American successes of all the times, Flashdance is a 1983 romantic film that has touched the heart of millions people around the globe, portraying the world of music, dance and singing in a unique way.
Flashdance is the story of Alex, a young and determined girl who works in a factory during the day and dances in a nightclub at nights, with a dream of becoming a professional dancer and being accepted by the prestigious Shipley Dance Academy.
Flashdance the Musical is the theatrical transposition of the renowned film, and its strenght lies in two major points: the striking choreography and the catchy music of several hit songs, such as “Maniac” performed by Micheal Sembello, and “What a feeling” performed by Irene Cara and expressly written for the film.

Concerts in Rome: Gianna Nannini concert tour 2011

She has recently become a mother, but she has soon gone back to work: Italian rock-singer Gianna Nannini, aged 56, gave birth to her baby last November, and just some days after Penelope was born, the single “Ogni volta” (Every time) was already broadcasted by the radio.

The song is the first excerpt from the album “Io e Te” (You and Me), dedicated to her child, that has been released last 11th January, two years after the singer's last effort “Gianna Dream: solo i sogni sono veri” (Gianna Dream: only dreams are true).

Now Gianna Nannini is going on a concert tour in Italy, starting in April, and continuing through May and June. Performances will span the whole country, for a total of 15 dates in as many cities, where the singer will present all the songs from the new album and sing her most famous hits.

Theatres in Rome: Enrico Brignano

Sono Romano ma non è colpa mia” (meaning “I am Roman but this is not my fault”) is the title of Enrico Brignano's latest book, that gives a picturesque, ironic description of all the distinctive traits of “Romanity”, that is to say how it feels like to be born in Rome.

Enrico Brignano is one of the most appreciated Roman comic artists, and largely famous all over the country too, particularly for his capacity to imitate the dialect of all the Italian regions.

Sono Romano ma non è colpa mia” is the name of Enrico Brignano's next show as well, that will be on stage at Palalottomatica in Rome from 12th to 17th April. Enrico Brignano's show gives us another occasion to laugh, but also to think over the vices and virtues of contemporary society, which he inspects in a unique, ironic way.

Events in Rome: Momix Bothanica

Momix is a world-famous company of dancers-illusionists directed by American choreographer Moses Pendleton. The company is famous for its extraordinary capacity to evoke a world of surrealist images, through the use of unique costumes, suggestive plays of light and shade and studied body motions.

Momix's latest masterpiece is entitled Bothanica and, as it can be gathered from the name, is inspired by a marvellous, striking nature, constantly threatend by dangerous human acts.
Bothanica is divided into two parts having the name of the four seasons: Winter Spring and Summer Fall, realized with spectacular choreographies that give amazing optical illusions. In fact, Pendleton's aim is to produce an “optical confusion” to excite the audience brain nerves and stimulate their creativity.

Momix and Pendleton are as astounding as usual, and Bothanica shows the beauty and the tresures of a world we must preserve.
Momix's Bothanica will be on scene at Teatro Olimpico in Rome, 17 Piazza Gentile da Fabriano, from 8th to 22th March, all days except the 14th and the 17th. Ticket prices from € 18 to 37.

Michael Jackson Tribute in Rome

One year after the premature death of the King of Pop Michael Jackson, Rome is going to remember him with a tribute show at the Olympic Stadium, on June the 25th.

The event is presented by Legend Music Awards along with World Live Entertainment and the line up boasts many international stars like: Brian Oxman and Kathryn Milofsky, Marlon Jackson, Lee John, Albert McRary, Dionne Warwick, Kim Carnes.

The show is expected to last three hours, with 3D and 4D effects being used to create a exceptionally memorable atmosphere. If you like concerts, you really can't miss this!
